Scranly

Terms of service

Last updated 12 June 2026

Short version: Scranly plans dinners and writes shopping lists. It tries very hard to respect what you've told it, but you're the one holding the frying pan.

The service

Scranly is an AI assistant that plans meals, generates shopping lists, and sends reminders over WhatsApp. It's currently in early access and provided as-is: we aim for it to be reliable, but occasional downtime, delays or odd suggestions happen. Meal suggestions are generated with AI assistance and inspired by publicly available recipes — sources are credited where shown.

Allergies — read this bit

Always check ingredients yourself. Scranly stores your allergies and enforces them in software when planning, and we treat this with real care — but it is not a medical device and we cannot guarantee any suggestion is safe for severe allergies or medical dietary conditions. For anaphylaxis-level allergies, verify every ingredient and label when you shop and cook. Scranly is a planning aid, not a substitute for your own judgement.

Fair use

Scranly is for planning your household's meals. Don't use it as a general-purpose AI service, attempt to extract its internals, send unlawful content, or hammer it with automated traffic. There's a daily message allowance; hit it and Scranly will politely pick things up again tomorrow.

Your account

Your WhatsApp number is your account. You must be 16 or over. Message "delete my data" at any time to close it and erase everything — see the privacy policy.

Payment

Early access is free. If and when Scranly becomes a paid subscription, pricing will be clearly shown before you pay, you'll be reminded before any renewal, and cancelling will be as easy as signing up. No surprise charges.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, Scranly isn't liable for indirect losses arising from meal suggestions, shopping lists, missed reminders or downtime. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited, or your statutory consumer rights.

The boring end

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. We may update them as the product evolves; material changes will be flagged in WhatsApp. Questions: hello@scranly.io.
